Sara Alonso-Martínez: Not Alone. 6-22 April 2017

Not long to go - We're looking forward to presenting this stunning show by Sara Alonso. 'Not Alone' is the result of a phenomenal challenge the artist set herself in 2016: to walk the Camino de Santiago route in the searing heat of the Spanish summer, resist engagement with social networks & produce an artwork each day of the walk.

Sara first exhibited at iota in 2015, in the group show 'Part 2(...)' of the Glasgow School of Art M.Litt. in Fine Art.

Opening 6-9pm Thursday 6th. Show runs till Saturday 22nd April.

What's in a Mile & Fringe?

We want photos of your nest, your den, your castle, your pride & joy - YOUR HOME.

In 2016 we set out to gather a collection of photographs showing how we choose to live today. Presenting the entries in a comprehensive exhibition, this collection will form a cultural & social archive for posterity, as well as give us all a sneaky peak at how the people around us choose to live.

Initially it was limited to 'What's in a Mile' radius of iota, but having had complaints from people who don't live within a mile radius, we added 'the fringe'. Now it's getting even more interesting!

This is not a collection of glossy magazine shots, so please don't tidy up.

This is not a photographic competition, so please just get your phone out and get snapping. We are of course happy to get photos from 'proper' cameras.

iota...What IS this place?

What IS this place?

iota is an arts space for people to engage with all forms of art & design.

(Why are art and design separated out like that? Maybe we should start a debate...)

You are encouraged to come in, enjoy, discuss, object to or propose what happens here.

You only need to be curious, aspiring or a practitioner of the arts to walk in the door.
